HARARE MARKET COMMONS / BEFORE & AFTER PHOTOGRAPHY BRIEF Independent Vision Lab design proposal — 7 October 2026 PURPOSE Create credible public comparisons of a documented street and its proposed improvement. No street site, market parcel or relocation is approved by this brief. BEFORE THE VISIT Agree the study block and proposed parcel with the appropriate authority. Arrange permission to photograph and use the images. Identify local traders and businesses to consult. Do not imply the study authorizes access to private property or announced relocation. CAPTURE THE SAME VIEW Record the location, date, time, photographer, camera/lens, standing position, direction and image file name. Take a clear wide view, an entrance view and details of footways, existing shops, crossing points, drainage, water and waste facilities. Retain original files and metadata. Respect people who do not wish to appear; obtain any required consent for publication. MEASURE THE PLACE Record footway and road widths, existing frontage, access points and potential service connections. Mark which measurements are observations and which require a survey. Check the proposed market plot boundary and ownership independently. Count footfall with a stated time window; ask traders about customers, goods, storage, services and affordable terms. BUILD THE PROPOSAL Keep the camera position and existing street geometry. Label all proposed stalls, surfaces, planting and facilities. Mature planting must be shown as future growth. Separate proposed work from completed work. A rendering is a concept, not evidence of construction or legal approval. PUBLIC BOARD CHECK Each board needs: the location; photo capture date; source and permitted use; matching view; a visible proposed-design label; approvals/status; the responsible contact or reviewed feedback route. Do not publish a permit offer, relocation notice or completion date without authority confirmation. CURRENT SOURCE STATUS Two photo-based studies remain in the private review pack. References were published in September 2026; individual capture dates, precise locations and public-use permissions are not yet verified. Public website visuals are concept images, not current-condition photographs.
